Beginning as a casual amusement, the epic poem,”Casey at the Bat” by Ernest Lawrence Thayer Provides Mort with a pleasant and studious hobby.
After memorizing the fifty-two lines, he has performed at Fenway Park in Boston, in the national Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine, and hundreds of other times; e.g. birthday parties, sales meetings, law offices, businesses, and family reunions.
